The Wounded Blue · revised September 17, 2026

You picked the mix. Here it is.

You liked A and B, wanted a mix of the two, and loved the map from A - and you said the map needs to show every area, because there are a lot more than twelve.

So Direction D - The Blue Standard is that mix. A's daylight ground, signal blue and Dispatch Atlas, carrying B's condensed headline type, amber impact plates, the what-happened / what-we-did / where-he-is-now receipt on every story, and the dollar wall.

The map now runs off a single list of areas instead of twelve hardcoded states. Send us the real list and it drops straight in - adding areas is a data edit, not a code change. We have also stopped printing officer counts we cannot stand behind, and pulled the "99 cents" claim until it can be reconciled with your own filings.

A, B and C are still below, unchanged, if you want to compare.

The Blue Standard

A's frame, B's authority. The daylight ground and the Dispatch Atlas come from A. The condensed uppercase headlines, the amber impact plates, the story receipt, and the dollar wall come from B. One graphite band for punctuation - not a dark site.

The atlas reads every area from a single list - 32 are lit in this build, listed by name right beside the map. Adding more is a data edit, not a code change.

Blue Across America

The daylight one. Nothing on the page is dark. The signature is the Dispatch Atlas - a live US map that lights up the twelve states, draws the three national deployments as routes, and drops a signal for every officer helped, then resolves into the cents-on-the-dollar dial.

Archivo Black + Public Sans. The biggest departure from the current site.

The Guardian Standard

The north-star match. Operation Finally Home is actually a dark charcoal site - its energy comes from amber stat plates and bright daylight photography, not a white page. This takes that authority and lights it: white bands break the dark up, and every story carries a receipt.

Barlow Condensed + Source Sans 3. The safest bet with the stakeholders.

The Next Good Day

The editorial swing. The homepage is one day, morning to evening. The signature is 500 Open Doors - five hundred doorways grouped into twelve state blocks that open as you read, one for every officer helped this year. Serif display, warm light, no dark ground anywhere.

Newsreader + IBM Plex Sans. The one that wins design awards.
